Kaiyo Whisky 'The Peated' is aged initially for two years in ex-Madeira barrels to impart a sweetness to balance the level of peat. It is then transferred to Mizunara Oak, where it will continue to mature for the rest of its days and enjoy a three-month ocean maturation journey that helps bring out the unique flavors that can only be obtained from Mizunara Oak. On the nose, the peat is present but is finely balanced with exotic fruit notes. On the palate, this whisky is deceivingly light and clean with fruit flavors of apple, coconut, pineapple, burnt orange and watermelon with a lingering smoke that compliments the sweet components perfectly
